Midland, MI Wedding Photography – Allison & Mark

What a gorgeous day it was for their wedding at the beautiful Dow Gardens in Midland, MI!

It’s always worth the trip to Dow Gardens, this place is so well kept and has beautiful locations for weddings. Allison & Mark are so kind and spent so much time putting together all the details for their big day and it totally paid off. In memory of her parents; Allison used some fabric of her mothers wedding dress for her own. Have a look for yourself at this wonderful wedding.

We’re really looking forward to shooting their wedding in August!

Grand Ledge, MI Wedding Photography – Carissa & Nick

I can’t say how thankful everyone was for having this wedding outside, of course they had a backup plan for an indoor wedding,  but the rain held off and made for a beautiful ceremony and evening. You may remember Carissa and Nick from the blog entry of their engagement session in October of last year. They had their wedding and reception at the popular Grand Ledge Opera House. I have chosen a few of my favorite images from the day to put below, once again it was hard to just pick a few so it may be a bit lengthy.

East Lansing, MI Engagement Photography – Amber & Tim

Amber & Tim were so much fun to hang out with, their wedding isn’t until next year but I can’t wait. This is the time of year I love, it was kinda hot this day so it was important to stay in the shade as much as possible. I learned that mosquitos like guys more than girls, Tim says in England he doesn’t have much of a problem with them so Michigan has been an experience for him. Nonetheless we all survived and came up with what I think are some great shots. Enjoy!

Lansing, MI Wedding Photography – Ann & Todd

I can’t say enough good things about this couple, they help me realize just how amazing and caring people can be. Their wedding was full of emotion, mostly fun but there were some parts where even I teared up… I love my job! Ann and Todd live in Florida but had their wedding in beautiful Michigan. The day after the wedding they invited us over to hang with their friends, we had fun playing lawn games and I realized even if you’re absolutely horrible at “ladder ball” and “corn hole” you can still make friends. I’ve been going over and over these images trying to pick my favorites to post. Finally I came up with what’s below, Watch their day unfold, be sure to vote for you favorites and leave the newlyweds a quick message below.

Brittany & Mike being surrounded by lakes and marsh, live in one of the most gorgeous areas of  Michigan. We decided to go out on the lake the next evening to capture some of my favorite photos so far. Words can only say so much though, have a look for yourself and let us know what you think. East Lansing, MI Engagement Photography – Emily & Ryan

It’s finally spring… well sorta. The color is in the grass and trees are coming out of their winter slumber. The temperature is slow to catch on but that doesn’t stop true Michiganders from enjoying the outdoors. Wedding season is about to kick into high gear and what better way to warm the camera up than shooting a fun engagement session on MSU’s campus. Ryan and Emily warmed up to the camera very quickly, I was able to start shooting right off the bat…or should I say racket, ha, maybe a corny way to say Emily And Ryan Met while In high school. Ryan managed the Tennis team that Emily played on. Now they are engaged to be married in January of 2013. I’ve never been the best with words so onto the pictures, I hope you enjoy! It was so much fun hangin’ out with this couple. I love reading comments so feel free to leave one below…

The Start with Voodoo Lighthouse

People ask me all the time how I got started in photography. There may be more than one answer, I have started over and over again. A couple years ago I was given the opportunity to travel from show to show with Voodoo Lighthouse. I had a blast going to shows with them, I took my photography to a new level using off camera wireless flash. In all the shows I went to with them I never saw another photographer doing the same thing. Working with Voodoo Lighthouse has kind of been a symbiotic relationship. I put together this quick glimpse of my past with them to show you some of my roots. Check out the Voodoo Lighthouse Facebook page by clicking here or on the photo below

I would also like to share with all of you some of the other photos I took when I was first on the scene of live band photography, Thank you to all the groups who allowed me to be right up on stage with you. ROCK ON! Click on the image below to see my old site and work with Live bands
